For the first time in the history of these young EV companies they delivered more than 10,000 units each during one Month. XPeng delivered 10,412 during September and NIO delivered a record 10,628 units during that same Month. China's new local car makers are off to a great start.

Li Auto lowers Q3 delivery guidance due to Covid-19 outbreak in Malaysia

Li Auto is the latest company to lower its delivery expectations due to the Covid-19 outbreak in Malaysia affecting its supplier's chip supply. Covid-19 in Malaysia has caused a severe disruption in the production of dedicated chips for its millimeter-wave radar supplier. As a result the Company lowers delivery expectations for the third quarter by 500-1,500 units. This is according to an announcement from the company on Monday. BYD Is in Talks With Xiaomi about cooperating on EV Project

BYD is in negotiations with Xiaomi about cooperating in the smartphone maker’s electric vehicle project This is according to Wang Chuanfu who is the founder and chairman of the Chinese automaker. BYD supports the development of Xiaomi’s car business, Wang said at the China Auto Chongqing Summit 2021 on June 13, adding that the two companies are already strategic partners, as BYD makes large numbers of handsets for Xiaomi. Nio delivering 8,000 vehicles in June despite chip shortage

Chinese electric car start-up Nio said Thursday that it delivered more than 8,000 cars in one month for the first time. The company delivered 8,083 vehicles in June. This brings the second-quarter total to 21,896 cars according to a release. That quarterly figure came in on the high end of Nio’s forecast for deliveries of between 21,000 and 22,000 vehicles in the three months ended June. Nio’s U.S.-listed shares are up 9% so far this year. The company has typically delivered more electric cars a month than two other U.S.-listed electric car start-ups, Xpeng and Li Auto.
